DRAINAGE BOARD

Although waterproofing membranes, whether fluid applied or sheet membranes, are integral aspects of waterproofing concrete and masonry surfaces, they are only one part of the important process. A foundation drainage board system is also a necessity. Drainage boards are designed to conduct water down into the foundation drainage system as-well-as to protect the waterproof membrane from damage during backfill. Without the installation of a drainage board, a foundation drainage system is incomplete and will be not be able to effectively protect against the elements.

Drainage boards not only lead water away from the foundation, they also protect waterproofing membranes and extend their durability. As such, an effective foundation drainage system consists of three essential components: a drainage board or membrane to direct liquids down from the foundation; a footing drain to allow water to seep away from the structure; and finally a sump pump to dispose of the collected water ).

We know that each building has its own unique characteristics, and understand that as a result, a proper drainage system should be designed accordingly. At Richmond Primoid, when we install a drainage system, we take into consideration every aspect, such as the source of the water and the slope of the site. Through the thorough individual assessment of each building we work on, we are able to construct the proper foundation drainage board system to effectively waterproof your concrete and masonry surfaces. We offer drainage boards of the highest quality and a trained team of experts to carry out each job.
