NEW CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS
A&R is a TUFF-N-DRI Selected Waterproofing Contractor. That means we have undergone
extensive training in the installation of the TUFF-N-DRI Basement
Waterproofing System--a system that guarantees a dry
basement. The system consists of two components--a membrane and a drainage
medium/insulation board.
The
TUFF-N-DRI Waterproofing Membrane
is a tough, resilient film that is applied by spray to poured concrete or concrete block
walls. The finished membrane is seamless--without gaps through which water can enter the
foundation.
The second half of the system is the
WARM-N-DRI Foundation Board. It is a rigid fiberglass board designed to drain water away
from the foundation, relieve hydrostatic pressure from the walls, insulate the foundation,
and to protect the TUFF-N-DRI membrane.
We introduced the TUFF-N-DRI Waterproofing System to A&R customers in 1984 and have
installed over two million square feet of material since. Those homeowners are enjoying
the benefits of dry, affordable, lower level living space--perfect for a home theatre,
exercise room, kid's playroom, or office space.

BASEMENT AND CRAWL SPACE DRAINAGE SOLUTIONS
To solve basement drainage problems permanently we developed our own Interior Drainage
System. To do it, we use a network of trenches and bleeder holes to tackle leakage through
below grade walls, the accumulation of water from above grade, and the rising water table.
A&R has also perfected a Crawl Space Drainage System for poorly graded areas where
moisture and/or standing water accumulates and to prevent the water seepage underneath the
foundation footing caused by the rise if the water table.
WATER MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
The heart of most waterproofing systems is the sump pump. As long as it works, the system
works--if the pump fails, the entire system fails. That's why we recommend the SuperSump
for water management--the
pump that was chosen as the best from among nearly 500 models.

The SuperSump includes a Zoeller 1/3hp cast iron pump with a mechanical float switch that
pumps 2650 gallons per hour smoothly and quietly. It resists clogging, can pump 1/2"
solids, and will perform reliably for many years. Although the pump is very quiet, the
discharge line is equipped with two rubber fittings for additional sound and vibration
reduction. Even higher volume pumps are available.
Need a foolproof system? The patented
WaterWatch Alarm System sounds off like a smoke detector if the water rises above the
point where the sump should turn on. This gives you warning if your circuit breaker trips, the pump cord gets unplugged, or the pump fails for any
other reason--a warning in time for you to address the problem before damage occurs.
We can even install a battery backup
pump to keep your basement dry when the power goes out.
